Why we start every house with the sun path
·
1 min read
Before we draw a single wall, we work out where the sun lands on the site at the hours that matter. Breakfast, the late afternoon, the evening in winter.
Rooms follow the light
The kitchen goes where the morning light is softest. The living room faces the long afternoon. Bedrooms stay calm and cool. Once those three are settled, the rest of the plan usually follows.
What it changes
A house planned this way needs fewer lights during the day, stays cooler in summer and simply feels better to be in. It is the cheapest design decision we make, and the one that lasts longest.
